Key Note Speaker: Jeremy Hamilton BS, MA
Jeremy serves as the Area Ministry Director for South Dakota with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (the broader ministry of which NCF is a part). Since 1999, Jeremy has been enthusiastic about engaging students in college and university settings on issues of faith and discipleship. In recent years, more of his energy has gone to support focused ministries like NCF and underserved institutions like 2-year technical colleges.
Breakout Session Leaders:
Josh Bilhorn BS, MA - Josh serves as the Regional Ministry Director for the Lakes and Plains region of InterVarsity – which encompasses ND, SD, MN, WI, and UP MI. Josh takes great joy in preparing ministers and volunteers to work with college students and to launch witnessing fellowships to help Christian students grow in their faith and to introduce Jesus Christ to the curious. Since 2000, Josh has served on many campuses and deeply loves seeing new corners engage with the Gospel.
Dr. Debra Hanson has been an occupational therapy (OT) professor at the University of North Dakota and the University of Mary. She served as an advisor for Intervarsity at UND and is invested in supporting Christian students in integrating their faith and identity as therapists. She is researching how OT practitioners address spirituality from a Christian perspective during rehabilitation.
Heidi Saarinen is a nurse practitioner at Catalyst Medical Center and nursing faculty at North Dakota State University in both the undergraduate registered nurse and graduate nurse practitioner tracks. She is currently working on her certification as a Resilience Instructor through Mayo Clinic and has over 20 years serving in various roles within the healthcare team. Heidi practices active listening and loves to apply Biblical truths to our human needs in both her personal and professional roles.
Conference Director: Katharine Provost BS, MA
Katharine is the National Associate Director of NCF Student Ministries, so she has the joy of resourcing and supporting groups nationwide from her home in Big Lake, MN. While working toward her MA in Christian Studies from Crown College, she discovered a passion for helping others grow in their Christian faith so that they can live a life on a mission. She especially enjoys helping people see how they can share the gospel in their everyday lives and work.
